Green Fleet
Green Fleet is the progression after Tackers 3 for sailors to continue on the racing sailing pathway and provides an introduction to racing with simplified rules and shorter races. Our Green Fleet sailors must own their own fibreglass boat at this level - they may start using a club boat while a fibreglass boat is procured. Sailors will be taught to rig and care for their own boat - teaching independence and building their confidence. Throughout the course sailors will learn safe boat handling skills with our structured yet fun course curriculum. To maximise progress, sailors can book into two sessions for the term.
Qualifying for Green Fleet sailors must:
- Have completed Tackers 3 or equivalent
- Own their own boat (or be in the process of purchasing one) - please contact our club for boat sales enquiries
- Boat storage can be organised through [email protected]
- Current membership Woollahra Sailing Club - an Associate and Junior membership is complementary for the first year of Green Fleet. Please contact [email protected] about storage and membership.
Sailors progress from Green Fleet to WSC Academy Optimist Performance Program's Optimist Intermediate - a certain level of competency is required. Please contact [email protected]
