Foiling demo day at WSC on Sunday 25 May 2025 from 10am
To kick off winter, we are highlighting some of the options for our youth sailors followed by pizza!
The aim is to provide an opportunity for our youth sailors to try out a range of foiling craft including WAZSPs, Wings, Nikkis and Bic Techno... and also 29ers, 420s and windsurfers! This replaces the information session scheduled in April about the future of youth sailing at WSC. We are preparing a survey to send to the community to get your feedback and input about what you would like to see happen at the club for our young sailors. IF there is interest, we can run an information session later.
WSC currently has a thriving Optimist Academy and ILCA Youth Squad with the ILCA providing a viable and exciting pathway option for our junior sailors. In one year, this squad has grown from 3 members to 20 members. We have a healthy 30 Optimist Academy members moving into the 2025 season with some great results from a packed regatta schedule in 2024.
We are keen to have everyone be part of the discussions a about options and pathways to new classes (which include many foiling options) for our youth sailors.
Join us on Sunday 25 May 10am to 2pm with a number of activities to check out including:
We'd love have people help out - get involved by driving ribs, providing directions or sharing their foiling craft, please let us know.
Looking forward to seeing you then
WSC Team
