It has a single trapeze and a fractional asymmetric spinnaker. The 29er is considered an Olympic pathway boat being the smaller sibling of the Olympic 49er and 49FX class.

PLEASE NOTE: The August 11th session is on from 2pm- 5pm due to the City To Surf run and road closures.

The NSW 9er Association run a Skiff Skills Program with the aim to transition sailors into the 29er, to teach rigging and derigging, righting a capsize, launching and retrieving a 29er, trapezing, gybing and tacking, using the spinnaker and sailing fast. Courses are usually run three times a year, with a spring, summer and a winter intake. Partnering with different clubs the NSW 9er Association provides the coach and 29er boats for the sailors. Clubs host the sessions assisting with the running of the course and allowing participants to use club facilities.
