During the month of March, we are undertaking a series of works to upgrade storage, general amenity and other infrastructure at the club. The goal is to improve the experience of all members.
Please find below notice of some upcoming works!
In the south western area of the club, we are replacing rusted elements, improving roof support and drainage, installing fresh foam padding, and adding new rows of Kayak storage. The works will primarily be in Rows B, C and D; as well as the storage rows facing outward toward the general yard. The changes will provide improved storage and also provide a wider range of storage options. The goal is to be able to place kayaks in a spot that is well suited to the individual vessel. These changes will take a few weeks to complete and vessels will need to be moved while the work is done. Every effort will be taken to protect members property. The works are forecast to be completed by mid-April 2021. Once complete we will review the storage allocation and, where applicable, contact members and offer improved storage spots. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these essential upgrades.
Yard Area Works
Through the changes to the storage, we will be able to relocate some boats and improve the flow through the yard. The result will be a shared yard area which is cleaner, more efficient, with less clutter and more rigging area.
Gate and Fencing Improvements
Thank you to our members for your patience with works to the gate and fencing. We are happy to say that we have been able to re-weld, replace sensors to, and repaint all of our club gates. Continued fencing works are set to commence from May 2021.
Our thanks and appreciation goes out to each of our members as we work toward making WSC a better and safer place for all.
