Club News – March 20 2020

Telephone Issues

Due to a telephony cable being cut in Rose Bay all streets surrounding Vickery Ave have lost land line telephone connections, and the estimated repair time is early April.  Obviously this includes Woollahra Sailing Club, so in the meantime please bear with us and contact us by email until service is restored – [email protected] Updates will be posted on facebook, instagram, and WSC website.

Please DO NOT LEAVE DOLLIES ON THE RAMP.  One person leaves a dolly on the ramp then next person follows that example and the next and pretty quickly the ramp is unusable.  Store dollies on the grass or on the brick pavers behind the winch.  Stack the dollies to minimise the space they consume.  Place them out of the way.

Paddling news

HOLD FAST.  Most if not all paddling events have now been cancelled as part of all of our efforts to flatten the infection curve as it relates to the Corona virus.  However paddling remains one of the few sports that can be done with relative safety vis respectful social distancing …so… Hold fast, as this too will pass!  Paddling Central Command advises you to heed the advice of medical professionals: wash your hands (use metho – it shall help develop those much needed calluses 🙂 practice social distancing, get some exercise, eat healthy and most importantly maintain a steadfast positive mental attitude.  Practice the watch words of ‘self-help’, and ‘positive-participation’.  And don’t forget to help others too – we’re all in this together.
If you need to – please reach out (virtually J)  to a fellow paddler – we are all here for each other – for support and assistance or just a (hypothetical or virtual) shoulder to lean on.
