Australian Youth Championships
Congratulations to WSC Members who competed in the recent 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 at Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club and also those who achieved selection for the provisional 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 (𝐀𝐒𝐘𝐓).
It was great to see many members attending the regatta in different capacities.
Unfortunately bush fire haze affected 50% of the event and our sailors had mixed results with minimal racing.
Our sympathy goes to those impacted by the fires, Woollahra Sailing Club will be supporting relief organisations.

SailGP season 2 kicks off in Sydney in February 2020. Australia’s Tom Slingsby will be hungry to defend his championship title, looking to put early points on the leader board in front of a home crowd. The thrilling, high-speed racing will take place February 28 and 29 from 15:00 to 17:00 with three races are scheduled per day. The best views will be from Shark Island in the middle of Sydney Harbour or from a spectator boat on the harbour. The only way to get yourself inside the event exclusion zone is with SailGP ticketed experiences. Boat owners are welcome to bring their own boat to watch from the edge of the exclusion zone. Ramp etiquette tips:
Be safety conscious. Booms can swing with wind change. Pedestrians and young children are unaware of the dangers be very careful when crossing the footpath.
Please do not queue across the pedestrian footpath outside the Club. Move boats forward when washing.
Use the ramp for launch and retrieval only. Not for parking. Not for rigging.
Please DO NOT LEAVE DOLLIES ON THE RAMP. One person leaves a dolly on the ramp then next person follows that example and the next and pretty quickly the ramp is unusable. Store dollies on the grass or on the brick pavers behind the winch. Stack the dollies to minimise the space they consume. Place them out of the way.
