Weather forecast

Glorious conditions forecast for this weekend.  Come down to the Club and have some fun.

Paddling News

An extraordinary windy and cold week with a few hardy souls braving the oceans yesterday – some to great success, whilst others found the large conditions resulting in damaged skis and probably damaged pride. All paddlers play it safe, check your equipment, and paddle within your limits with all safety measures in place and all eventualities and back up plans covered.

This weekend sees many of our paddlers lining up for the usual ‘Shark Island Paddlers’ Time Trial (TT) at 8am on Saturday. This TT it is said – in hushed tones- will be the best TT ever, with an extraordinary turn out expected, and predictions of 10 to 15 knot NNW winds. It is however notable that whilst outrigger canoes are regularly seen at the Harbour Series and other races around Sydney, few are regularly seen at the SIP TT… Don’t hold back – if you feel like joining in, please contact Bruce MOLLER – who (by the way) came first in his age group at recent Spit to Zoo race. (Bruce demonstrated powerful and fast control of his paddle) via the Shark Island Paddler’s website. If you feel like a Shark Island Paddler then you are one.

All of this and more will be followed by hot showers and even hotter discussion to follow. Don’t drop your (member’s) FOB! Of course you want to join in…
